Game play now matches popular online British Museum video demonstrations.

This game dates back to at least 2,500 BC. Ancient boards and pieces were discovered in what was once the region of Mesopotamia. These were found in the Royal Tombs of Ur. There are many theories on how the game was played at that time. A game of chance and strategy that pits black versus white.

• Two variations to choose from for game play.
• Play against the computer.
• Play head-to-head against friends or family.
• Play online opponents as well as compare your scores with other players using Game Center.

Bad AI and loaded dice for computer
It seems like the game maker couldnt figure out how to make the computer smart, so instead they loaded the computers dice. They roll 4s many, many more times than you will. Still pretty easy to beat, but feels cheap and frustrating when it happens. I dont know if this game gets a little like tic-tac-toe if the players are balanced, or maybe two good players will end up having to play for hours, but the loaded dice solution isnt ideal in any case.
Dice response
As the person who did the programming, I can tell you first-hand that the randomization function is exactly the same for the player as for the computer opponent.
Ehhhh
I wish it had all the other ways to play it. The board game I have has different rules so I was it were different
Great game--bugs fixed.
Im just revising my earlier critical review of this game. This post iOS5 update had eliminated the bugs and crashing issues as far as I can tell. Glad theyve got this working again. Great game. Even before iOS5 came out this game would always restart itself when you went to screen saver. This seems to be fixed too.
Disappointed
I used to enjoy this game a lot, but no more. Why couldnt you make it backwards compatible to earlier iOS versions as other app developers have done?
